SHULAMIT LEVENBERG

TECHNION-ISRAEL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ISRAEL

BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Levenberg received her PhD in 1999 from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where she specialized in Molecular Cell Biology and Cell Adhesion under the supervision of Prof. Geiger. Supported by an EMBO fellowship, she conducted postdoctoral research at Professor Robert Langer’s group at MIT, designing human embryonic stem cell (hESC)-based models to investigate vascularization evoked during tissue formation.

Prof. Levenberg ongoing projects at the Technion encompass interdisciplinary research of tissue engineering, stem cells and biodegradable scaffolds. Her research has been awarded notable prizes and is published in numerous world-class scientific research journals.

TOPIC: ‘TOWARDS “PAN3DP BIOPRINTED PANCREATIC TISSUE” - 3D BIO-PRINTING OF VASCULARIZED TISSUE CONSTRUCTS.’

Session - Day 2: 12:00

During her talk, Shulamit will discuss her work towards creating 3D-bioprinted pancreatic tissue as part of the Pan3DP project.
