The de Duve Institute is a multidisciplinary biomedical research institute (250-300 scientists) hosting several laboratories of the faculty of medicine of the Université catholique de Louvain, as well as the Brussels branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.

It is localized in the immediate vicinity to the University Hospital St. Luc on the campus in Woluwe-St.-Lambert. The focus is on basic research in the fields of:

(i) genetics and development
(ii) immunology and cancer immunology
(iii) cell biology
(iv) biochemistry
(v) signal transduction
(vi) virology

Therefore, wide expertise is available close to the Pierreux team. All necessary technical platforms are available at the de Duve Institute for the proposed project, including transgene technology, high-throughput sequencing, mass spectrometry. Moreover, the research group of C. Pierreux runs the Institute's Imaging facility (PICT, platform for imaging cell and tissue).
